Maija Worek’s research published in Family Business Strategy

Maija Worek, Academic Coordinator for Business Administration, Strategy & Organization at the study program Human Resources & Organization published her recent research in the renowned Journal of Family Business Strategy. Together with her co-authors, Prof. Dr. Alfredo De Massis from University of Bozen, Prof. Dr. Mike Wright from Imperial College and Dr. Viktoria Veider, they examined the goals that family and nonfamily firms disclose when engaging in acquisitions. The sample consisted of 558 acquisitions of almost 400 European companies. The results show that the goals of family firms significantly differ from those of nonfamily firms. When engaging in acquisitions, family firms highlight in particular goals related to existing markets and stakeholders and less financial and innovation goals compared to nonfamily firms.

Journal of Family Business Strategy is acknowledged a renowned journal in the area of management science.
